Updated 1 January 2014.
The Bottom Line
"Better than Bouillon" is a line of soup bases - pulp concentrates, broth / cardboard are used in place of bouillon cubes or canned. While not as good as homemade wines, those who have treated me more than lived up to its name.

Guide Review - soup bases better than bouillon
I've tried the basics of chicken, beef, vegetables and mushrooms.
Ingredients: Although in a label with flavors that are key ingredients chicken, beef, etc. are low carbers should note that sugar and corn syrup Solids, whereby one gram of carbs per teaspoon. However, a teaspoon of this stuff goes a long way.
Taste: The broth with 1 teaspoon per cup of water is salty, but slightly less than bouillon cube. The taste is "real" - I do not see a bad taste, as they sometimes do with canned broths. Two of these products were tested by Cook's Illustrated in the past, and both times went very well. In 2003, the system was tested under base second packaged broths. In 1998, the taste of the meat, the second house was beef broth (though far behind).
Use: I used these products in many recipes with good results. The advantage they have over the wine (in addition to being much cheaper) is that you can control the concentration of flavors - not a low boiling point, just the concentrate diluted directly in the pot and when needed. The only downside is that you will usually reduce or eliminate other sources of salt in the recipe.
Price: Better than Bouillon is $ 2.99 at Trader Joe's pot (only chicken flavor). I usually see, for $ 6.5 regular grocery stores. On the website, a bottle to sell for $ 7.99.
